EURO 2024 is now part of history, and it will be a tournament fondly remembered by many, especially those from Spain.

Spain deservedly defeated a spirited England team in the final on Sunday to become the most successful team in men’s European Championship history. This victory marks their fourth title, adding to their previous triumphs in 1964, 2008, and 2012.

GK: Jordan Pickford

Euro 2024
If you watched the Euro 2024 final you’ll know exactly why Jordan Pickford has made our team of the tournament.

England’s number one made crucial saves in Berlin on Sunday and throughout the rest of the Euros, consistently rescuing his team when they needed it most. His performance was nothing short of heroic, showcasing his shot-stopping ability, command of the penalty area, and excellent distribution.

Pickford transforms into an exceptional goalkeeper when playing for the Three Lions, displaying a completely different level of brilliance compared to his club performances. His composure under pressure and ability to pull off extraordinary saves were vital for England’s deep run in the tournament.

RB: Dani Carvajal

It is pretty remarkable that Euro 2024 was Dani Carvajal’s first European Championship with Spain

What isn’t surprising is that a man who has won six UEFA Champions League titles, five FIFA Club World Cups, and four La Ligas would end up as a European champion with his country.

Just as he has done repeatedly for Real Madrid, Carvajal delivered when it mattered most for La Roja. He put in a series of exceptional performances at right-back throughout the tournament, showcasing his reliability and skill in crucial moments.

CB: Marc Guehi

Drafted into England’s starting lineup after Harry Maguire was injured before the tournament, it’s fair to say that Marc Guehi more than performed admirably at the heart of the defense.

Whether in a three or a four-man defense, Guehi seamlessly integrated into Gareth Southgate’s XI and now appears poised to secure a permanent starting role for his nation in the coming years.

CB: William Saliba

The best centre-back in the Premier League was also the best centre-back at Euro 2024

The defender was outstanding for Les Bleus, excelling both defensively and in possession.

LB: Marc Cucureala

Marc Cucurella was the best left-back at Euro 2024.

The Chelsea defender put in career-best performances for Spain to prove his many, many doubters wrong. He even popped up with the final-winning assist for Mikel Oyarzabal. Nice one.

CM: Rodri

If Rodri is in your starting lineup, you’re likely to win every football match you play.

That’s exactly what Spain did. The midfielder was at his brilliant best throughout Euro 2024, putting in all-action midfield performances and even chipping in with the odd crucial goal too.

CM: Fabian Ruis

Rodri’s partner in the middle of the park was also bloody brilliant throughout Euro 2024.

AM: Dani Olmo

Considering the fact that Dani Olmo wasn’t a starter for Spain until Pedri suffered a tournament-ending injury in the quarter-finals, it is pretty damn remarkable that he’s earned a place in this team.

RW: Lamine Yamal

Celebrating your 17th birthday by winning the Euros is something that has quite literally never been done by a footballer before.

LW: Nico Williams

Nico Williams was utterly sublime in the final win over England, as he was during 99% of the rest of the tournament too.

ST: Cody Gakpo

The Liverpool man was the driving force offensively for the Dutch in Germany, scoring three goals to drag his nation to the latter stages of the tournament.
