Real Madrid 3-1 Stuttgart Champions League match highlight
Real Madrid began their Champions League campaign with a hard-fought victory on Tuesday, though they were tested throughout by Stuttgart.
Real Madrid opened their Champions League title defense with a 3-1 win over Stuttgart, secured by late goals from Antonio Rudiger and Endrick.
Stuttgart, last season’s Bundesliga runners-up, pushed Madrid throughout the match at the Santiago Bernabeu. Thibaut Courtois made key saves, while Dani Carvajal deflected a Deniz Undav shot onto the crossbar.
Kylian Mbappe put Madrid ahead after a swift counterattack early in the second half, but Stuttgart equalized in the 68th minute through Undav’s header.
Rudiger restored Madrid’s lead in the 83rd minute with a header from Luka Modric’s corner, and Endrick sealed the victory with a stoppage-time strike.
